The RC considers complaints against IOT registered Trichologists referred to it by the IEC. The Council can decide whether to determine a complaint by a public hearing or by private written submissions of evidence. If a Trichologist is found to be of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ or ‘professional incompetence’ the council can:
Sharon launched as an Independent Consultant in February 2023 and is a previous Director of Nursing Programmes (Leadership) at the Queen’s Nursing Institute, where she developed both the Aspiring and Executive nurse leadership programmes. She has a clinical background in district nursing and specialist nursing, including Macmillan nursing. She has twelve years’ experience as an academic when she was a Senior Lecturer in a university teaching education and community nursing.
Sharon is a Queen’s Nurse and was awarded an MBE for services to community nursing in the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Sharon has served as a magistrate for over twenty years and sits at West London Magistrate’s court, where she is a chairperson.
Becky is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner working a hybrid role within the NHS, working in the Emergency Department and Acute Medicine specialty as an independent and autonomous clinician seeing, assessing and treating a vast array of presentations. She has 16 years of experience after entering the NHS aged 16, she graduated with an Advanced Diploma with Distinction in 2013, going on to work as an Intensive Care Nurse and Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist, being deployed into the Covid High Dependency Unit at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. She graduated with an MSc in Advanced Practice in 2023 and is an Advanced Life Support provider. She is a Non-Medical Prescriber and also undertakes teaching as part of a knife crime prevention campaign working alongside the police.

Her professional journey began at BT, where she spent over three decades providing expert psychotherapy services, honing her ability to navigate complex emotional landscapes and offer meaningful support. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, she developed extensive expertise as a mental health management consultant, working with both BT and Accenture. In these roles, she helped businesses foster healthier work environments, address employee mental health challenges, and implement effective, lasting solutions to support well-being in the workplace.
She also operated a successful private practice, offering tailored therapeutic interventions to clients seeking personal growth and resolution to life’s challenges. Her strengths lie in active listening, uncovering underlying issues, and guiding clients toward sustainable solutions. These skills allow her to offer insightful, empathetic, and effective support, whether working one-on-one or within organizational settings. Passionate about mental health and well-being, Sandra strives to empower others to lead balanced, fulfilling lives while creating environments that promote collective wellness.
